研究方向

1)筛选衰老相关的重要基因并研究其作用机理:

我们利用线虫寿命短(约3-4周),分子机理保守的特点,以其为模式生物分析衰老相关基因的表达并筛选出确实影响衰老的基因。除了蛋白编码基因外,我们也关注microRNA,这一类非编码的小RNA在衰老中的作用。

2)探索长寿基因与衰老相关疾病(如神经退行性疾病等)之间的关系:

长寿的个体一般较少罹患衰老相关疾病。这就为应对相关疾病提供了一条崭新的思路,即通过调控长寿通路来预防或治疗包括神经退行性疾病等衰老相关疾病。本实验室使用包括线虫、细胞培养、以及小鼠等多种模型来检验我们筛选得到的长寿基因在衰老相关疾病中的作用及机理,以期为这些疾病的防治寻找新的方法。
