周金秋,中科院上海生科院生化与细胞所研究员。2001年受聘于中科院上海生化与细胞所,现担任研究组长、博士生导师、研究所副所长。他先后获得中科院“百人计划”,基金委“杰出青年基金”资助,并承担多个国家级(如基金委重点项目、优秀创新群体、科技部重大研究计划等)项目研究。在回国后,他围绕“染色质与细胞衰老”的主题,取得了一系列研究成果,分别发表在PNAS EMBO Journal PLoS GeneticsNucleic Acid Research Cell Research Nature Structural & Molecular BiologyMolecular and Cellular Biology Journal of Biological Chemistry等国际主流学术期刊上,成为国际学术界本领域有一定影响的实验室。多次受邀请在国际和国内学术会议作学术报告。2013年作为项目负责人,获得了基金委的“优秀创新群体”项目资助。他是“新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选”(2009年),获得中科院朱李月华优秀教师奖(2011年)、及A-IMBN颁发的Arthur Kornberg Memorial Lecture Award2012年)。他培养了15名研究生,他们获得多项荣誉,包括中国科学院院长奖优秀奖、辉瑞特等奖(2010年)和一等奖、朱李月华优秀博士生奖等。他还担任多个学术期刊的编辑或编委工作, PLoS Genetics副主编(Associate Editor)(07/2011-06/2016),Journal of Biological Chemistry编委(07/2012-06/2017),Journal of Molecular and Cellular Biology副主编(06/2009-至今),Journal of Genetics and Genomics编委(01/2014-12/2016)。他还担任上海科技大学兼职教授(01/2013-至今)。中国生物化学与分子生物学会常务理事(08/2014)。

研究方向

探索真核细胞维持染色体稳定性的机制和细胞衰老的机理。目前主要用端粒作为特别的切入点来研究:端粒是如何保持染色体稳定性的;在常染色质和异染色质之间的边界是如何建立的;DNA双链损伤或端粒复制发生时所产生的表观遗传信息是什么;细胞衰老的分子基础又是什么。
